The Grass is Singing/The Theme of Power

Sixth year students Aisling Wyer and Luke Tai share with NewEnglish a presentation they have created on Doris Lessing’s The Grass is Singing. The presentation specifically focuses on the theme of power in the novel. The pupils studied the novel as part of their Leaving Certificate comparative course here in the college.

Today is World Book Day. Click here for full details. Here are some ways to get involved with the activities that are going on around the school;

Activities:
*Junior Table Quiz – wiil be taking place for First and Second Years in their English classes. There will be a class prize to the highest scoring class.
*Class magazine – Over the next two weeks classes can create a class magazine that will win them prizes and get featured on the Blog.
*Individual Prizes - Submit a book review, poem or special article to your English teacher over the next two weeks to win an individual award.
